Neolithic henge and stone circle- 104m diameter

Originally had 60 stones within a circular ditch however only 27 now remain, 3m deep ditch, took 80,000 hours to construct surrounded by  2 circle hengles, proximity to stenness and maishave henges show the importance of the site- these are linked with a causeway between the henges

South Uist

Ancient village built ontop of a cremation cemetery- on purpose to be close to their ancestors, there are dead bodies buried under 1 corner of each house

Howick

Circular ditch with postholes said to be the remains of a mesolithic hut

Hearth full of charcoal, nut shells and bones

Was occupied for at least 100  years
