Across Europe, the new attitudes of ordinary people led to more medical knowledge, People wanted better answers to the questions about what caused disease. There were a number of diseases which could not be easilly explained by the Theory of the Four Humours and were not cured by traditional humoural treatments such as blod-letting or purging. However some traditional ideas were still accepted such as Miasmata as a humoural cause of disease.
