Healthy Diet

A helthy diet contains a balance of all the different food your body needs in order to function. Your body needs more of some nutrients than others. Carbohyrdates, fats and proteins are needed in large amounts to provide you with energy and for growth. Vitamins and minerals are only needed in small amounts to keep the body healthy. Fibre is needed to help keep the food moving through the body. 

A person who does not have a balanced diet is said to be malnourished which may lead to them being too fat or too thin. It may also cause them to have a deficiency disease such as anemia (if you don't have enough iron in your diet).
