Global atmospheric Circulation

?

High pressure areas are created where the air is cool. Cool air sinks towards the Earth meaning no condensation can happen, so there are no clouds. This means the sky will be clear.

Low pressure areas are created where the air is warm. This warm air rises up into the atmosphere where it cools and condenses to form clouds. Areas of low pressure are cloudy which can also mean they experience regular rain.

Polar

At the poles, air is cool and sinks, creating areas of high pressure. This is why Antarctica and the The Arctic are very dry.

This air then flows towards the lower latitudes. At 60 degrees latitude this air mixes with warmer
