How do we predict earthquakes ?

we can't really however we can measure the rate at which the plates are moving and try and come up with an idea of when there could be a possibility of pressure building up which could lead to an earthquake- there aren't that many ( if any ,warning signs for an earthquake)

How do we predict volcanic eruptions ?
