Written in trisects

Unequal line lengths = represents the inequality of wins & loses when gambling, could also link to the inequalities between men and women (feminist movement) 

Stanza 1 = how the character gambles - character has a passion for literature 

Stanza 3/4= "to win / and then" enjambment shows that rhyme & the flow of the poem has been disrupted. This shows discontent for the character - also showing that there is an…
