Factors Affecting Food Supply
1) Climate
Climate affects food supply because it affects porductivity and the types of food that can be grown. Regions that experience high temperatures and rainfall struggle to produce food.
2) Climate Change
Climate Change affects global farming patterns and productivity - weeds and pests generally thrive in warmer conditions.
3) Poverty
The poorest people cannot afford any form of technology, irrigation or fertalisers for their crops, meaning that they are often unable to produce enough food sor the growing population of a country.
4) Conflict
Conflict can lead to the destruction of crops and livestock to food security and possibly even famine or death.
5) Lack of water and droughts affects crop production, leading to serious famines.
