Duck's Phase Model (2007)

• At the beginning it explained the 4 stages of a relationship ending, arguing there were many procress and phases that a relationship must go through.
• Duck added the 5th stage (resurrection) after he was critisised for being too simplistic.

Intra-psychic stage

This includes personal contemplation and focuses on cognitive processes. You get a strong focus on the reasons for dissapointment and the partner's flaws plus the weighing up of pros and cons of the relationship. But the couple aren't talking to each other about this.

Dyadic-phase

This focuses on the interactive processes. This includes confrontations which include discussing the relationship and dissapointments. In other words, the couple are arguing and complaining…
