‘Textisms’
Vowel deletion – Vowels are deleted out of word to make it quicker to type. Seen in text conversations e.g. ‘txt’ for ‘text’. Also seen as letter omission (letter being taken out) e.g. ‘thx’ for ‘thanks’
Phonetic spelling – Spelt the way it sounds when pronounced e.g. ‘u’ for ‘you’
Contraction – Shortening words e.g. ‘gonna’ for ‘going to’
