Constitutional Rights

• Basic Constitutional rights can be violated by the executive, Trump Muslim travel ban in 2016 
• However other branches hold it up, Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional in 2017 
• During times of crisis constitutional freedoms can be infringed, Bush's anti terror laws violating privacy freedoms and judicial rights (creating of Guantanimo Bay)
• However rights are usually fairly consistently held up, Obama restricting operations of Guantanimo during his presidency 
• State Power, a constitutional right could be seen as being infringed by Healthcare Reforms (affordable care act in 2010) 
• However states do still have considerable power, Florida keeping death penalty despite it being outlawed in most states
