  • The United Nations works for world peace in various ways
  • The UN has met only with limited success in bringing peace to Darfur
  • Both Christianity and Islam support organisations which work for world peace
  • Forgiveness and reconciliation are the keys to peace
  • The just war theory offers conditions which enable religious believers to fight in a war
  • Some Christians believe the theory is supported by biblical teachings
  • Sometimes skillful leaders use and distort the just war theory in order to gain support for their actions
  • Christians are taught by the Bible to seek peace and reconciliation with their enemies
