WHAT IS CHEMICAL ENERGY?
Chemical energy is a special form of potential energy that lies within chemical bonds. Chemical bonds are forces of attraction that bind atoms together in a compound. When chemicals react to form new substances, bonds break in reactants and new ones are formed as products are made. This process changes the chemical energy or the atoms.
