Yes:

• In some countries it is accepted and not against the law e.g. Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland

• It can be the most loving thing to do as you are taking away the pain and suffering and this can be linked to Fletchers situation ethics, he says an action is good when it brings the most loving thing/result.

• Utilitarian- something which is good brings about greatest happiness, so by ending the suffering and pain of the dying person and helping the family overcome their worries and no longer a burden on the family brings about the greatest happiness.
