Book 10 of Homer's Odyssey

So Aeolus, keeper of the winds, bags up all of the winds except for the one that will get Odysseus home. So when the crew are IN SIGHT of Ithaca! Their home! Odysseus falls asleep and his crew OPENS THE BAG! (they thought it was treasure). 

they are brought back to Aeolus' island, but he thinks that they're idiots and refuses to help them AGAIN. 

So the next island they end up on is the island of the Laestrogonians. ALL of the men except for the ones on Odysseus' boat end up trapped in the harbour and are killed by the Laestrygonians.
