Active transport

Defenition :

Active transport is the movement of molecules across a cell memebrane from a region of lower concentration to a region of higher concentration - movement of solutes against a concentration gradient requires energy/ATP from respiration.

Passive transport = Diffusion + osmosis/ doesnt invole energy

Active transport = cellular respiration for energy

Active Transport (updated) - YouTube

1) Molecule attaches to carrier protein

2) ATP molecule provides energy to go from low concentration to high concentration or against a concentration gradient

3) Carrier protein changes shape and moleule is released on the other side (side with higher concentration
