Aseptic Techniques
- aseptic techniques are used to prevent contamination when working with microorganisms
- prevents contamination of microbe culture and individuals working with the microbes
- solid or liquid agar is used to culture microorganisms and a lot of care is needed when transferring microorganisms to the petri dishes containing the agar or to other containers
- aseptic techniques inclue:
- using a metal inoculating loop and 'flame' it in the hottest part of the Bunsen flame to sterilise it
