Uses of enzymes in industry

Enzymes are also used in biological detergents and washing powders. They are mainly protein or far digesting enzymes, proteases and lipases. These are ideal for removing steins like food or blood.

Enzymes are also used in industry in order to pre-digest food. Proteins in some baby foods are pre-digested using proteases so that the food is easier to digest for the baby, whereas carbohydrases (carbohydrate-digesting enzymes) can be used to turn starch syrup into sugar syrup.
