The army oath of allegiance, August 1934

In 1938 the army had plotted to get rid of Hitler, after he failed (is what they hoped) to conquer the Sudetenland. It then came of shock to them after he suceeded to do so and their plan had fell apart. In result of this Hitler dismissed the cheif of staff and 60 other generals. Thereafter the army was also subservient to Hitler and swore an oath to him.
