RUSSIAN REVOLUTION-ANNA ANDERSON

Lord Mountbatten, a member of the British Royal Family (and thus a relative of the Tsar) led the campaign against Anna Anderson. What explanations might you be able to offer for this?

RUSSIAN REVOLUTION-ANNA ANDERSON

I think that Lord Mountbatten led the campaign against Anna Anderson because he felt threatened by her presence. If she WAS Anastasia, she would be have a legitimate claim to the British throne. This would change British culture and history, and she may have cut Mountbatten off the family line.
