In the 1920's Anderson claimed she had seen her uncle German Count Ernest of Hesse, meeting her father in 1916/17. Hesse was one of the main opponents in proving Anna Andersons true identity wasn't Anastasia. How might these be linked?

In 1916/17 Russia was at war with Germany in the First World War, and so the two countries would have been in confrontation. Hesse shouldn't have been in Russia at this time, and so Anderson claiming she saw him could be a huge blow to Germany and Hesse.
