The Care Quality Commission (CQC)

What is CQC: They are a independent regulator of the Health and Social care in England.

Their role is:

  • Need to register care providers 
  • Also they need to montior,inspect and rate services such as the NHS trust, inderpendent hospitals and GP pratice.
  • They need to take action and including legal action which will protect the service users 
  • They need to be an independate voice like they need to be publishing regional and national views of quality issues which are in  health and social care.

CQC inspections

They need to ask five questions eact time they inspect.

1) Is it safe?

2) Is it effective?

3) Is it caring?

4) Is it responsive?

5) Is it well led?
