Knowledge on World War Two - Task 2

- 5000 children had been killed and 1.4 million people had lost homes.

- Weekly adult rations included 4-8 ounces of bacon; 1-2 eggs; 1 tin dried milk.

- By 1940, 1/3 of city children weren't going to school anymore.

- Evacuation affected cildren. 50% of children from towns and cities were evacuated to the countryside.

- 3000 women worked for the SOE.

- Almost one milion British women worked in the armed forces during WW2.
