What does it do?

What does it do?

-Help customer find products, ensure goods on display and take customers payment

What does it do?
-Plan future sales, advertise and market research

E-Commerce: Online Shopping (Done through debit/credit cards transfering funds online, delievred to you door)
Advantages: 24/7, Competitive Pricing, Instant Stock revealed
Disadvantages: Delivrey Charge (Cost and Delay), possibility of Fraud, customer never sees the goods

What does it do?
-ordering and paying for goods or services

What is it?
-Ensures safe working enviroment for the employees and general public

What is it?

Electronic Communication Act 2000
What is it?
-To facilitate electronic communication and data storage

-this makes it legally binding, no longer does paper need to be printed out for this
Encryption Services
-Sets up register for encryption servies (secret codes)
Advantages
-confidence about encryption services, obtain electronic signatures on documents, no need to print and sign the document
Computer Misuse Act 1990
What is it?
-Brough in to prevent hacking
Hacking: unauthorised access to computers, act covers viruses
Its illegal to
-gain unauthorised access to computer files, gaining unauthorised access to computers with the intent of commiting further offences,carrying out unauthorised modifacations on computer material

What is it?
-Ensures that the creators of new work that they can control and make money off their product
Computer Software
-You can be the software you can only buy the license, which dictates what you are allowed to do with the software
Data Protection Act of 1998
What is it?
-Change from paper to computerised records, allowing tranfers to be much more easier and simpler
-The right to have data correct, erased or destroyed
-The right to stop processing if its likely to cause damage or distress
Principles
-data must be collectyed and processed fairly and lawfully
-data must be kept accurate and up to date
Working From Home
Advantage for the Employee
-reduced travel time, flexibnle hours
Disadvantage for the Employee
-no feedback from supervisor, less human intercation
Advantage for the Employer
-small offices, saving money on bill (heat, light)

-lack of supervision, no much communication
