Childhood

Born August 30th 1797

Parents were William Godwin and Mary Woolstonecraft, the later died in childbirth

William then married his next-door neighbour (cheeky), Mary Jane Clairmont, who already had two children

William prefered his new wife's children than his own (he's not the best dad is he).

Mary was never educated by a school, but drew inspiration from her mother's and father's books.

Love Life

She met her lover Percy Shelley when visiting her mother's grave (very gothic).

After two years of knowing each other they started loving each other, even though Percy already had a wife and children (bit of a cad), they ran away in June 1814.

Later Life

In 1816 Mary's half-sister Fanny died, and soon after Percy's wife drowned herself (pleasent, I know)

Mary and Percy then married in London and tried to have 3 children, who all died after birth, which threw Mary into depression. She had one surviving baby, but this didn't help much.

Meanwhile, Percy was seeing other women (he really does get around). However, they were quite the social butterflies and had many literary friends including Lord Byron.

I was during this period she wrote Frankenstein.
