Protein

Provide important source of high biological value protein which is easily digested (espicially in white fish)

Provide fat in the form of unsaturated oils

Oily fish particularly provide essential fatty acids omega 3 and 6 - which reduce risk of heart disease and strokes

Fat soluble vitamins A and D

Oily fish are good sources

White fish: the liver oils contain vitamins and the oil is sold in capsuels as a vitamin supplement (cod liver oil)

Group B Vitamins

Fish and Shellfish contain some B Vitamins

Found in bones of fish

When eaten in canned fish provides a useful source

Fluoride and Iodine

Sea fish provides useful amount of these and other minerals and trace elements(Potassium and Sodium) not iron
