Describing Folds

Gentle - the inter-limb angle is between 180 and 120 degrees

Open - the inter-limb angle is between 120 and 70 degrees

Closed - the inter-limb angle is between 70 and 30 degrees

Tight - the inter-limb angle is less than 30 degrees

Upright - the axial plane is vertical

Inclined - the axial plane dips

Symmetrical - symmetrical about the axial plane

Asymmetrical - not symmetrical about the axial plane
