The Electromagnetic Spectrum

  • travel as waves and move energy from place to place
  • travel through space ( vacuum) at the same speed but have different lengths and frequencies
  • ALL waves are called the " Electromagnetic Spectrum)

GAMMA RAYS - shortest wavelength, highest frequency

RADIOWAVES - Longest wavlength, lowest frequency

Different wavlengths of electromagnetic radiation are:

  • reflected
  • absorbed or
  • transmitted

Wave (metres) = Frequency(hertiz, HZ)  x Wave (metres)
