CONSUMER RIGHTS UNDER UK LAW

when buying something, the item must be of satisfactory quality, it has to be fit for purpose and as described online, if the item is faulty it has to be replaced, repaired or the money refunded

SHOPPING ONLINE

if you buy online from a UK-based retailer then you have the SAME RIGHTS buying online as you do buying in a shop. this means you can return faulty items just like you can in a shop

COOLING OFF PERIOD

there is a cooling off period for online purchases, this means any orders placed online can be cancelled for ANY REASON up to seven working days after receiving the items, a full refund of any money paid will be made. it applies to everything except:

- goods which are personalised with names etc

- food, flowers etc

- software where the seal has been broken (CDs/DVDs)

-reading material that is not a book (newspapers)

- gaming, betting and lotteries
