Crust: Made up of tectonic plates which make up all the different countries. The crust is divided into
two parts ­ the continental crust and the oceanic crust. The thickness of these ranges from 0 ­ 100
Mantle: The thickest part of the earth and makes up 80% of the Earths volume! It is similar to an
igneous rock.
Outer Core: Composed of 85% liquid iron and 5% nickel. The temperature ranges from 4000
Degrees C ­ 6100 Degrees C! It controls Earth's magnetic field which protects us from the sun's
solar winds.
Inner Core: This is the hottest part of the earth. It may have a temperature as hot as the sun! The
inner core has about a 1216km radius.
