- Jason broke an oath of marriage towards Medea that was made under the gods therefore he has broken a sacred oath, ultimately could be why the gods take Medea's side in the end
- Medea makes the Chorus swear not to reveal her plans for revenge towards Jason, however doesn't mean they can't intervene they're just too late when they hear the children's screams for help
- Medea makes Aegeus swear an oath to the gods to allow her to come to his home and stay there and provide him with children. He is unaware of what she is going to do therefore he swears the oath. This ensures that she will have a place to go no matter what she does because he can't break the Oath otherwise he will make the gods extremely angry
