Logarithmic Scales

Advantages

  • Useful for plotting rates of change
  • A wider range of data can be displayed
  • Increased data for smaller values

Disadvantages

  • Easy to make errors plotting
  • Difficult to analyse
  • Zero cannot be plotted
  • Negative and positive values cannot be displayed on the same graph
