Franco-Russian alliance

Causes

the Kaiser visited London on a state visit and gave the impression to the russians of a secret alliance between Germany and Britain
France and Russia began to enter talks regarding an entente

Effects

marked the end of france's isolation in europe
fuelled german fuels that in a future was german and france would be allies- Germany in potentially dangerous situation

Overall summary

happened in 1891-4 , but was partly obscured by the shift in tensions in europe to that in Africa and China
