Intensive Farming

Advantages

  • Cheaper
  • Produces more and is cheaper to buy
  • Uses less space in growing
  • Less people for labour

Disadvantages

  • Uses a lot of chemicals
  • Chemicals lead to Eutrophication and Bioaccumulation
  • Animals have a lower quality of life
  • Produces a lot of pollution

Evaluation

There are many adv. to intensive farming but they are weighed down by the disadv.
Many people now buy organic food from farms which want the animals to have a happy life (live free range eggs,) and no chemicals are used to enhance the plants percentage to survive.
