Hitler appointed as chancellor power and limits

Advantages

  • had control of the courts and the police
  • control of media
  • Hindenburg supported article 48
  • Nazis were the largest party

Disadvantages

  • Hindenburg had power over hitler - could fire him
  • nazis in gov but not the majority - 3 to 12
  • Junkers supported Papen
  • army are independent
  • SA were seen to be a threat - Hilter believed this

Evaluation

At the start Hitler did have power but to have complete power and consolidae it he would need to become the president but that has less power so instead he decided to join the roles and become the fuhrer getting rid of the idea that he could be fired at any time.
