Advantages
- Gives an explanation as to why there is natural and moral evil.
- States that God did not create evil as it is not a 'thing', therefore, God is not responsible for it.
- Allows for humans to be 'saved' through Jesus-Shows a benevolent God.

Disadvantages
- Contradicts the theory of evolution.
- Suffering is essential to survive, things must dies so that other things can eat.
- Why was hell created if bad things weren't meant to happen?
- An omnipotent God should be able to get rid of evil.
- Logical contradiction to say that a perfect world has gone wrong. wither the world was not perfect to begin with or God made it go wrong.
