Augustine's Theodicy
A soul-deciding theodicy (rather than Irenaeus' soul-making theodicy)
Based primarliy on Genesis 1-3 of The Bible
God makes the world "perfect"
("God looked on His creation and saw that it was good")
'Evil' is not an entitiy in itself. It is simply a lack/ privation of goodness- Augustine calls this privatio boni.
Think of it as being like blindness: if someone is blind they are unable to see light. 'Evil' is like blindness, in that it is simply the inability to see goodness.
