- Snow covered almost all of the UK (up to 50cm)
- The frost damaged crops
- Social Impacts
- Lots of water pipes froze and burst. 40,000 homes were left without water
- Several people died from hypothermia or accidents due to losing control on icy roads
- Schools closed. On December 2nd, 7,000 were closed
- Economic Impacts
- Sales in shops were down
- The overall economic impact was around £1.6 billion. This was enough to reduce the UK's GDP by 0.5%
- Many people couldn't get to work
- Transport networks were severely disrupted
