      • Several people died from hypothermia or accidents due to losing control on icy roads
      • Schools closed. On December 2nd, 7,000 were closed
    • Economic Impacts
      • Sales in shops were down
      • The overall economic impact was around £1.6 billion. This was enough to reduce the UK's GDP by 0.5%
      • Many people couldn't get to work
      • Transport networks were severely disrupted
