- Displaying highly unconventio-nal / unusual behaviour.
- Strengths
- It acknowledges the subjective experiences of the individual.
- Limitations
- Each individual is psychological-ly different.
- It relies on the subjective judgement of a clinician (eg. doctor/ psychiatrist).
- Rosenhan & Seligman (1989) - abnormal behaviour is that which causes personal distress and inability to cope with everyday life.
