  • Paint Spraying
    • 1. Spray gun charged.
    • 2. ALL paint particles become charged with SAME charge.
    • 3. Like charges repel - paint particles spread out giving a fine spray.
    • 4. Object to be painted is given opposite charge to the paint.
    • 5. Opposite charges attract - paint is attracted to object and sticks to it.
    • 6. Object gets an even coat, with limited paint wasted.
    • If object to be painted ISN'T charged, object and paint particles gain same charge, causing paint droplets to be repelled away from object.
    • If object to be painted ISN'T charged, object is given opposite charge to paint.
    • If paint is (-) charged, having gained electrons, object should be (+) charged, by losing electrons.
