    • A million tonnes of ash were removed from roads, buildings & airports.
      • It cost $1million to remove the ash from the town of Yakima and  it took 10 weeks
    • Millions of trees were replanted
    • $70million compensation was given to farmers
    • New tourist facilities were built to encourage tourists back into the area.
    • Buildings and bridges were rebuilt including a new highway.
    • Money was given to redevelop the salmon hatcheries after 12 million baby salmon were killed
    • Drainage in the area was looked at to ensure debris did not cause flooding.
    • Helicopters were mobilized to search and rescue.
    • Giving medical supplies to those who were injured
    • Shelter was provided for those who had lost heir homes.
    • Unfortunately the landscape had changes so much that maps were no longer accurate, his slowed down rescue efforts.
