- Very few people win in gambling
- Gambling wastes money that could be spent better, for example on family
- It makes a person dependent on chance or 'luck'
- All forms of gambling are forbidden (haram) e.g: lottery, horse racing, gamling machines
- 'Get rich quick' is against the spirit of Islam
- Allah has said: "nobody should have what they have not earned"
- Gambling is addictive and can cause many problems for families and society
