- JPG- lossy compressed for storing images smaller than a BMP
- PNG- Lossless format, common choice forstoring line drawings text and iconic graphics at a small file size.
- Use MP3 files for web pages, web videos, in fact for anything on the Internet. AnMP3 file is a compressed music file. It loads rapidly and still plays with a very good sound quality..
- PDF allows you to import text from a Word document, images of various formats, Excel® spreadsheets, vector graphics, and more into a single PDFdocument.
- MPEG generally produces better-quality video than competing formats, such as Video for Windows, Indeo and QuickTime
- Why can videos be lossy but not text files?
- ? When the file is compressed some detail/data/quality/resolution is lost... ? ... which is not noticeable in the video file/video still viewable with lower quality ? … but would make the text file unreadable/lose meaning or comprehension
