- Chest pains (a sensation of pressure, tightness or squeezing in the centre of your chest
- Pain in other parts of the body (feeling as if the pain is travelling from your arms, jaw, back and abdomen)
- Feeling light headed or dizzy
- Sweating
- Shortness of breath
- Feeling sick or actually physically being sick
- An overwhelming sense of anxiety
- Coughing or wheezing
- Environmental Causes
- Intense physical activity (the hormone adrenaline is released during intense physical activity, this hormone can trigger SCA in people who have heart problems

- Structural changes in the heart: changes in the heart's normal size or structure may affect it's electrical system

- Feeling lightheaded and dizzy is a symptom for strokes, cardiac arress and coronary heart disease
- Sweating is a symptom which is specific to only cardiac arrests and no other circulation conditions
