- Rate of a reaction measures speed of a reaction or how fast it is
- Rate of a reaction = amount of product formed / time
- The average rate can be found by measuring:
- a) measuring the time it takes for a certain mass of the solid to appear in the solution OR dissapear
- b) If a gas is given of then measure the time to collect a certain volume of gas
- Steeper Gradient on graph means faster rate
- The faster the rate the shorter the time it takes for the reaction to finish, so rate is inversely proportional to time
