Variation

?
Whats the difference between inter and intraspecific variation?
interspecific is when one species differs from another species and intraspeific is when members of the same species differ
1 of 5
Explain how you would take a random sample
1) divide selected area into a numbered grid 2) use a random number table to select coordinates 3) place an appropirate sized quadrat at the coordinates selected
2 of 5
How will sample size affect the reliablity of your results?
the larger the sample size then the more reliable your results will be.
3 of 5
What will affect variation? what are the differences and influences?
Genetic differences: mutations, meiosis and fusion of gametes. Environmental influences: light, pH, food availabilty, soil conditions and climatic conditions
4 of 5
Describe mutuations, meiosis and fusion of gametes
mutations are the sudden changes to genes and chromosomes that may be passed onto the next generation, meiosis is a form of nuclear division that forms gametes, fusion of gametes will produce offspring with characteristics from each parent
