CBTp was found to be effective in reducing rehospitalisation rates up to 18 months following the end of treatment and it was shown to be effective in reducing symptom severity.

It is estimated in the UK that only 1 in 10 of those who could benefit get access to this form of therapy and more recent and methodologically sound meta-analyses of the effectiveness of CBTp may be lower than originally thought.
