a structure for creating webpages that will follow a certain style

The main page of a website, which is most important and intrigues the user

What does site navigation supply?
It is easy to move around a website, with the minimum number of clicks

What do hyper links allow you to do?
Jump from one part of the website to another or even a completely different website

What are hotspots?
an images or piece of text used as a link on a webpage

What do rollover buttons/images do?
a section that changes its appearance when a cursor is moved over it

What are bookmarks/favourites?
these are used to keep a record of interesting webpages you come across when browsing

What are anchor links?
If a webpage is long this allows you to jump to a certain section of the page

What are leader boards and banners?
an area on a website that displays adverts and allows you to link to that company or organisation

What is a Navigation bar?
A bar at the top of website browsers which enables you to move around the site and perform certain actions. These typically include back, forward, refresh, home, stop and search

What does HTML stand for?
HyperText Markup Language

What does HTML do?
It is a special code used for making webpages, used to specify the layout and structure of a webpage, using what are known as tags

What does it mean when you say "hosting websites"?
A website is a computer that contains the information that users of the Internet can access using their web browser. Who ever connects this to the internet is the host of that particular site which is accessible to the public
