T1- What is the triangle for speed, distance, time?
Distance on top with speed and time and the sides.
1 of 24
T1- What is acceleration?
How quickly your velocity is changing.
2 of 24
T1- What is the triangle for change in velocity, acceleration and time?
Change in velocity at the top, with acceleration and time at the side.
3 of 24
T1- What are on the axis on a distance time graph?
x axis- time y axis- distance.
4 of 24
T1- on a D-t graph, what do the gradient, flat sections, downhill/uphill sections and curves show?
Gradient= speed (steeper faster.) Flat= stopped/stationary. downhill/uphill= moving to/away from starting point. Curves= acceleration/deceleration.
5 of 24
T1- How would you find the speed and distance from a D-t graph?
speed- the gradient. distance- reading the y axis.
6 of 24
T1- What are on the axis on a velocity time graph?
x axis- time y axis- velocity
7 of 24
T1- On a V-t graph, what does the gradient, flat sections and steepness show?
Gradient- acceleration/deceleration. Flat- constant speed. steepness- greater ac/deceleration
8 of 24
T1- How would you find the acceleration, speed and distance from a V-t graph?
acceleration- gradient. speed- read off y axis. distance- area under graph.

T1- Describe gravity.
It is the force of attraction between all masses.
10 of 24
T1- What is weight?
It is a force caused by gravity.
11 of 24
T1- What is weight measured in?
Newtons.
12 of 24
T1- What is the formula for weight?
W (N) = m (kg) x g (10N/kg)
13 of 24
T2- What are three types of friction?
Gripping-static friction, solid surfaces sliding past eachother, and resistance/rag from fluids.
14 of 24
T2- Friction increases as....
the speed increases.
15 of 24
T2- What are independent variables you could change in the toy car experiment?
The mass of the toy car, the angle of the ramp, the starting point to test acceleration, the material of the ramp.
16 of 24
T2- Why do things on earth fall at different rates?
Because of friction (air resistance.) Depends on shape and area of object.
17 of 24
T2- What is terminal velocity?
Where weight= resistance.
18 of 24
T2- What is a common experiment used to test terminal velocity,
1) Collect sycamore seeds, different wing lengths but similar masses. Record wing lengths using ruler. 2) Drop from the same height, record time taken to reach floor with a stopclock. 3)Repeat, find average for each.4)bigger drag=less time reach tv
19 of 24
T3- What is the first law of motion?
Balanced forces mean no change in velocity. (no resultant force due to balanced forces.)
20 of 24
T3- What is the second law of motion?
A resultant force (unbalanced forces,) will result in an acceleration/deceleration of some kind. Starting, stopping, speeding up/down, change in direction. RF not needed for movement bu ACCELERATION.
21 of 24
T3- What is the formula linking mass, accelertion and force?
F=ma F is the resultant force.
22 of 24
T3- What is the third law of motion?
If object A exerts a force on object B, object B will exert an equal force back. Things accelerate differently because of mass (F=ma, a= f/m)
23 of 24
T3- How would you combine and work out vectors?
add up the total force in one direction, and then do the same for he opposite direction. Start with one direction and subtract the opposite direction.
