Simplifying algebraic fractions
Cancel common factors

Sometimes needing to factorise equations to find common factors
1 of 6
Dividing polynomials
Use long division to divide the polynomial by one know factor in the form (x +/- a)

This allows you to find the other factor as of the expression and find its roots to draw a graph
2 of 6
Factor theorem
If f(x) is a polynomial

If f(a) = 0 then (x-a) is a factor of f(x)
3 of 6
Deduction
proving a statement is true starting from known facts
4 of 6
Exhaustion
Proving every option for a a statement is true
5 of 6
Counter example
Giving an example in which the statement is false
