Stage 1
The Child uses ‘no’ or ‘not’ at beginning or end of sentence. E.g. No wear shoes

The Child moves ‘no’/’not’ inside the sentence. E.g. I no want it

The Child attaches the negative to auxiliary verbs and the copula verb ‘be’ securely. Eg. ‘No, I don’t want to go to nursery. I am not’
